"Only maybe," she responds in the serious way that isn't exactly mocking and once again, I'm glad that I've learned that children really do have a world of their own working up in their minds. She's stopped shrieking happily, but she curls up with Skinny when she stops.
I grin, watching the both of them, proud as ever of her and beaming away. "Skinny, if I got near a man-eating shark, do you really think Joe would ever forgive me?"
